    My first time at a medieval event I was in awe of the campsites that were set up. As I drove though the gate I felt butterflies in my stomach at the sight of the white period tents standing proudly with banners flapping in the wind. The sheer amazement you feel when you see all of those medieval tents in one place is an incredible feeling. My question to myself was, would my modern tent be acceptable among a sea of medieval tents? My first event was the Great Northeastern War in Hebron, Maine.     I was introduced to the Society for Creative Anachronism by a new friend who had been a part of it for 27 years. The Society for Creative Anachronism is a world wide organization that is dedicated to the re-creation of life during the Middle Ages.
